The following must accompany your completed application:
  1. A copy of your Vehicle Registration; and
  2. A copy of your Certificate of insurance. (Ordinance 92-22)

All individuals and companies acquiring a Boardwalk Vehicular Permit are required to be covered by a policy or policies of liability insurance covering these individuals and companies, including their agents and employees. The following coverages are the minimal liability permitted under this section.

Class of Permits. Boardwalk Vehicular will be divided into the following classes.
  1. Annual Permits- Issued to those applicants requiring repetitive or year-round access to the Boardwalk;
  2. Temporary Permit- Issued to those applicants requiring Boardwalk access ranging from one trip to a seasonal needs ($50.00 deposit required in addition to fee);
  3. Special Events Permits - Issued to those applicants having permission from the City to conduct a special event on the Boardwalk. No fee is charged for a Special Events Permit.

Weight Limitations. The following weight classifications are established to provide for both vehicular and pedestrian safety and to identify overweight vehicles that may safely use the Boardwalk but will cause greater wear-and-tear of structural members and fastenings.

The above weight limitations may be increased by using planking on the Boardwalk Surface. If used, the planing must be a minimum of 2" thick. Any proposed increase of weight limitations must be accompanied by an individual structural analysis and forwarded to the City Engineer for review and approval.

Permit Fees. The following fee schedule shall apply to all permits issued under this Ordinance with the exception of vehicles owned and operated by the City of Atlantic City. (Ordinance 92-18)

I, in accordance with Ordinance No. 76 of 1980, do hereby covenant and agree to and with the City of Atlantic City that I will indemnify, hold harmless and defend the City of Atlantic City, its officers, employees, agents, servants and representatives from any and all claims by any person(s) from damage to or loss of property, injury to person(s), or loss of life arising out of any incident involving the use of the Atlantic City Boardwalk by vehicle(s) indicated on the Boardwalk Vehicular Permit issued to me by the City of Atlantic City, Office of the City Engineer.

Further, I promise that I will be responsible and pay for any damage to City property arising from my use of the Boardwalk.
